
Faron Young was a country music musician, producer, and songwriter from the United States. He was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, on February 25, 1932. He attended Fair Park High School as well as Centenary College of Louisiana.
Faron and Hilda Young married in 1954 and have four children. After 32 years of marriage, the couple decided to split. Faron Young passed away on December 10, 1996, at the age of 64.
Faron Young’s debut hit, “Goin Steady,” was released in October 1952. The song reached number two on the Billboard Hot 100. In addition, he released “Sweet Dreams,” which sold over a million copies.
Faron joined with Mercury Records and had multiple singles, including “Wine Me Up,” which reached number three on the Billboard Hot 100. In 1979, Faron signed with MCA Records.
