Tragedy struck the fitness and social media community when popular Brazilian bodybuilder and fitness influencer, Alana Paiva, lost her life in a horrifying motorcycle accident in Rio de Janeiro.
At the young age of 21, her promising journey was cut short on October 12.
The accident occurred while Paiva was riding pillion on a motorcycle driven by her boyfriend, Uilblim Do Espírito Santo, a retired military officer.
They were in the Campo Grande neighborhood when a van made an illegal turn at an intersection, resulting in a head-on collision that tore the motorbike’s handlebars off.
Shockingly, the van’s driver fled the scene, leaving the injured couple behind.
Uilblim Do Espírito Santo initially survived the crash but tragically passed away just four hours later at the hospital.
Alana Paiva was transported in critical condition, placed in a medically induced coma, and her family held onto hope as her condition appeared to improve.
However, despite the best efforts of medical professionals, Alana Paiva lost her battle for life ten days after the accident.
She was laid to rest at Jardim da Saudade de Paciência Cemetery, leaving behind a legacy as a dedicated bodybuilder and fitness enthusiast with a substantial following on Instagram and TikTok.
